VA Secretary Adds AL Amioidosis As A Presumptive Disease Associated With Exposure To Agent OrangePrimary AL Amyloidosis, the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) Institute of Medicine issued it's most recent report on it's formal review of the scientific and medical literature on health effects potentially related to exposure to to herbicides and related materials used during the Viet Nam war. Based on the recommendations of the task force, the Secretary announced his decision that the evidence warrants establishment of a presumption of service connection based on service in the Republic of Vietnam for primary AL Amyloidoisis. As required by law, a notice has been published in the Federal Register announcing this addition and 38 CFR 3.309(e) will be amended to include this disease.

As you will see, this is an insidious disease, that manifests itself in many different ways. It can and does effect multiple organs, and systems of the body.
I implore anyone that is a Vietnam Veteran, or, has a relative that is a Vietnam Veteran, or, knows a Vietnam Veteran to get checked out for this disease as quickly as possible. It is that serious.
