There is NO WAY to tell!
Anyone know the % of problems for each maker the 1st 50 hours?
(ever seen a thousand owner national survey published like that or even close?)
Anyone know for sure in a hull-load to hull-load comparison who has the best speed-mpg-holeshot?
Anyone know the costs of repair after 5 years or 200 hours for the top makers?
You ever see a, say (just for example), Skeeter ZX200 with a 200 Merc and 400 pound load tested against a Yammy with same? I have not. Its always apples and plums. Ask yourself why...
There is no Consumer Reports or detailed legit objective surveys...we do get sales ads at times that MIGHT be legit.The testing ground is mainly the Pros who use them 200+ days a year and run them hard. ..so we MAY get to know how the 250s are running but what about all the other HPs?
If 15 popped during the BMC we would know a little bit...but who reports all those problems of pros yearly to US?
Its the proving ground for makers plus the warranty claims. Imagine how little we would know w/o the Web?
Ever see a legit report on warranty claims for a maker? Why not? Its all fuzzy...on purpose...life as it is...not trying to be negative...just real...so I am not voting.

They are all great motors... The factor of how long they last is really on how well they are kept up... I run mercury for a few simple reasons... I always have... My well trusted mechanic is a certified merc dealer and mechanic and once you go black you never go back my mechanic says LOL

They all have there problems when you have over a million products out there somethings gonna break. I have owned Evinrudes and Merc's. Bass fisherman are harder on motors then anyone out there except for racers. JMO There she is get the net!! Kenny B 1993 204/250 ProSX
