Ive seen and heard of TOOOOOO many horror stories of people NOT wearing one..The last elite series Clark R. was wearing his when he was flung out of his boat along with his Marshal. I wear mine when the big motor is on.

guilty of only doing it when in a tourney mostly.. had a death of a well respected boat mechanic here recently because he was not wearing one, that really opened my eyes so I think from now on I will wear mine. Most times when not in a tourney i'm puttin around but still...

I am a big believer in wearing my vest and kill switch lanyard. This time at work a co-worker showed me a video of one of his friends caught on tape in a bad bass boat accident. Take a look for your selves and don't think it can't happen to you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UEETjztLqI <

If my big motor is running above idle speed, I have the full vest lifejacket on, and the kill switch engaged/attached.I also check that the kill switch works every time I leave the dock before ever getting on plane. I am a life jacket freak for some reason. I always wear one. I have to get better about my kill switch, probably only use it about 85% of the time.

Ya know, I only wear it from blast off to hole. I need to fix that. I think I will start this week!! It seems to be such a hassle when your not running hard or not in a lot of boat traffic. Even at night when there is hardly any body at all out there you should still have it on. If it was a law and had a stiff fine you would see more of it. It only makes sinse to wear one, why we don't I don't know. Ya I do......just don't want to take the time to PUT IT ON!!!!! I think I just talked myself into a new habit!!!

This kill switch thingy is huge guys. It must be worn & w/ life jacket. Think of your loved ones.http://ozarksfirst.com/content...67691 His wife had to shut the boat down in the dark terrified as hell.
for the family. I'm pretty this is the boat, they don't have pic posted. I think they're a little off on price. http://www.ulrichmarine.com/re...t=330 The Life Jacket would have also provided some cushioning from the impact of the tree limb. | Quote, originally posted by blugill » | Even at night when there is hardly any body at all out there you should still have it on..... In the tourney's I fish I have it on every time the big motor is running. While on my home lake I never have it on and I know I need to break that habbit.

A new device came out a year or two ago. It's called an Autotether. Works three different ways.1. Hit the FOB button, pops the kill switch...shuts down the engine. 2. Get about 50 feet from the boat mounted control module, pops the kill switch....shuts down the engine. 3. Submerge the FOB in water, pops the kill switch...shuts down the engine. The kill cable can still be attached to the kill switch clip for the standard operation. This video shows just the FOB button activation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddrrGsh7rl4 I use this on my personal boat and a commercial towing vessel.

100% of the time when the Big motor is on. In the event of a mishap, I'm hoping for a rescue instead of a recovery.
