I wear the 5-11 boots with the side zipper. They have the bigger zippers so they dont break and are pretty comfy...

I like my 5-11's. They seem to breathe better in the summer so my feet don't sweat (as bad.) That makes everyone more happy. SCREW IT...LET'S GO FISHING!!!

Most def the best I have had as duty boots. I wear the 6" and they are very light weight. Only about $100.00, great buy for this boot!

I have owned a lot of boots in my time. I thought nothing would be more comfortble then my Hi-Tec's until I tried these. Awesome boots. I found the Rocky's to heavy.

Oakley has a website just for cops/ems/milt etc types. You have to send them a copy of your ID to be able to order boots, shades, and other stuff. The prices are great (esp for the shades, all cops need cool shades....right?) Take a look at it. I like their black desert boots (but I live in FL so I don't need warm type boots). I am K9 full time and wear the hell out of mine. K https://secure.usstandardissue...08206 Remembering 3655K

Danner by far.. Used to wear rockies, but now they are made in China and my last pair only lasted a few months and the inner-liner ripped out. Also like the Okley site, good deals on shades and other duty gear like gloves.

I have had the side zips and they seem to fail after a while and I have to get them repaired. I always go back to the best, Danner. Nuff said

Well I broke down and bought a pair of Danner Gortex and so far they are great. I have to get used to lacing boots up again. I didnt realize how lazy I had gotten with the zip ups. To all you that wear Danner how long did it take to get them broke in i have had mine for about two weeks and they still are pretty stiff.

What about lace in zippers, if the boots outlast the zippers, just lace in some new ones. http://www.thefirestore.com/st...ppers/

bates are the best all around boots i have used to date. not too expensive, good life span. i believe they offer them in side zip. danners are good but, too pricey. hi techs are the right price but they dont last. ridge were to heavy. i have recently converted to new balance cross trainers. they last over a year and the most comfortable. feet do get wet if i get in deep water but, they did that with boots also. hope that helps.
