Yes, ugly desribes it. I texted that pic to my wife after I caught it and her reply was "eewwwwwww, what is that?" It is one ugly Flathead, I can't beleive some people grab those thing blindly under water on purpose.

That is an appaloosa catfish, they all look like that, and are tasty !!! Some of the best eating in the catfish family.

 My son caught this 37# flathead a few weeks ago fish a texas rigged green pumpkin zoom worm. He called me on his cell phone in a panic and wanted me to come get it. Had to beach the boat and drag it up on to the bank. He didnt want to touch it until I did...haha.....BTW, he was fishing with a carrot stik as well. Never had any problems with ours
