+1 Same as Cpt. Morgan--Gotta have the ring or I blow out at the top of the hole shot.

Running a trophy plus, I have no idea what a blow out ring is so I would say no ring. I have 2 large hole PVS plugs and 2 small hole PVS plugs. Could probably change to 4 large holes. Couldn't load the boat with 2 large holes and 2 missing plugs.

A weed ring or blow out ring looks like this: http://www.bassboatcarpets.com...dring
There is a recessed cavity on the front of the trophy prop that accepts it.
Hope this helps.

The trophy WAS the best prop on my rig until the Fury came out. On my E-TICS the 27 trophy with ring. On the Yamaha, a 26 with ring. None would come out of the hole without blowing out without the ring, plus with the ring they had much more torque to push up on the trailer. Can not speak for a Merc though. Ran 2 plugs out and 2 large hole plugs.

I liked the ring more better holeshot, no blowout, and a little easier to get it on the trailer.

Although my fastest prop to date on all boats is a special 27" tempest that I only bring out when I make speed runs. So far my last two boats have run 78+ with it. Of course very light by myself and cold conditions. This is the same prop that ran 74.7 on my '06 LE-21 w/225 ProXS.
