I use a tablespoon of bicarb of soda to which I add boiling water. Leave overnight rinse and store.

Denture tabs work great I made the mistake of using Clorox years ago Clorox cleaned it completely but ruined the ability to keep coffee hot. I noticed my coffee only stayed warm for an hour or two, so I checked the box and it warned to never use bleach

The polident worked great, but I had to do it 3 or 4 times to get all the gunk out. These thermoses were over 20 yrs old, and the layers of crap that came out looked like peeling paint. I use a product called Dip-It. It's a powder. You put about a tablespoon of it in either a coffee pot, Thermos, or mug, fill with boiling water and let it sit for about half hour then rinse. Makes it look like brand new. . . . Don't worry Ma'am.... I'm only here for the Bass.

I will also vouch for Dip-It, stuff works great! When I lived in Germany the water was very hard and would get a build up on my coffee pot in nothing flat. Would use the Dip-It liquid and the pot would be like new. Well worth the money!

To clean out your yucky thermos (just look inside it and you will be scared), water bottles, camel baks, etc. Put a couple of denture cleaner tablets in the container with water and let it sit over night. In the morning scrub it out. A toilet brush works well on a thermos because it has a longer handle. Just don't grab the one from the bathroom

sounds good cept the toilet brush part, even a new one its just the thought of it JOHN202 JOHN202 2004 BLAZER 202 - DC 2004 250 HPDI

Several years ago I filled my stainless thermos with boiling water and added some clorox bleach, I am not sure how much I just poured some in it. The mistake I made was that I put the top on it and set it aside. I did this before I went to the office and when I came home at lunch, the top had been blown off. It put a big dent in the sheetrock ceiling and made a real mess. To this day I don't know how or why it happened. I am sure there was some tremendous pressure that built up and blew the top off but the threads were still in tact. Since then I have used "Dip It" cleaner. I am out at this time and would like to get some more. Where are you buying it?

We use Brew-Rite Cleaner. It's fairly inexpensive, works great and is readily available at most local Walmart stores.
