Bringing one back to life. Reply  Edit

Repairing, modifying and restoring a VS 150 Hydrasport. See here.
http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com...heavy

The plan is finish all repairs. A re-gel. White bottom, and everything else black.
Re-carpet, mount my depthfinder/GPS (X102C and Ifinder with Ram mounts)
All stainless hardware-fuel fill, thru-hull fittings, rub rail, grab handles etc.
Trolling motor-I'll have to buy used. I would rather have a high thrust used vs lower thrust new
Deck extension with built in tackle storage where the cooler area was (in front of console) and large storage for vests.
A running rod rack along the port side seat.
re-upholstered seats

Also going to have the carbs rebuilt this winter.

Once I get the thing on the water and a little bit of time using it, I'm installing solid motor mounts, a hotfoot, and foot trim controls.
Then a nose cone, exhuast dump, and spacers on the jackplate.

Then use it for awhile and think about all the other stuff I want to do to it, but can't afford.

Yea Good stuff .. I just finished up my 86 VS150 not long ago .. well for the most part .. I have a temporary motor on it now, a Erude 90hp.. soon to be a Frankenstein Mercury a Mix of 150hp midsection down, and 200hp modified on top, if the crankshaft in the 200 is good.. if not will use the 150 block and modify it using the carbs and front half of the 200hp in any case .. this boat is going to make your arse pucker when done lol.

Yeah I wanna add some go fast bits too.

Hopefully by the start of next season, I've got solid motor mounts, a hot foot, a steering wheel trim all in place. Then by summer 2" setback spacers on the jack plate, a nose cone, and an exhuast dump, like the offshore mids. I'm going to make my own.

Then over the winter, 2.6gt carbs, carbon reeds, high compression heads, milled, and a light flywheel. Then track down a 235 block to build w/ porting and all

I can't leave anything alone.
