24v trolling motor swap with 36v / Power poles Reply  Edit

How easy would it be to swap out my 24v motorguide to a 36v? I guess I would have to re run some wires and add a battery tray and battery

Also, has anyone added two Power Poles to thier rigs, and how is the installation on them?

I'm looking to make some upgrades to the ol LE-21 for next season

Install new tray, Take the red or black main cable from one battery attach it to the red or black to the new battery then run a jumper from the opposite terminal to an opposite charge on the second battery and you are good to go. Of course install the new TM also. Wire gauge is the same from 24 to 36 on Legends.

On the power poles have a service center install them, kind of a pita by yourself.

Boy CJ to be young and have $$ to burn.. Time for you to just upgrade to a 211 and have the boys at the factory have it ready for you..

ihave done exactly what youve mentioned, i have 2 polls and a 36 volt troller, im running the 199 and my top end has dropped by about 4mph, with 4 batteries, the 2 powerpoles, plus a 10 inch hydraulic jackplate the reservoirs for the powerpoles, the oil tank, and gas tank all back in the rear end is alot of weight, , im thinking real hard of going back to a 24 volt system,

Oh man I was thinking it would be more difficult than that. Doesnt seem like it will be too bad of an install. Will I need to do anything with the battery charger then after adding the third battery?

jhef- Thats one of the best looking 199's Ive seen! I gotta have the 36v for up on the big waters and with the Northern Opens hitting the Detroit river next year. How much room does the power poles pumps and what not take up?

You may want to get the 4 bank charger from Legend. They aren't cheap and use a wiring harness that is a pain to install. It may be easier to just use a separate charger on the third battery. The 36v install is much easier than the four bank charger install.

the pumps are about 8 x 8 square, not too bad, another option instead of the 4 bank is just the stealth system, its smaller and alot lighter, i have never had my batteries fail me..plus when you make long runs your trolling batteries get charged as well,,

The Power Poles are a breeze to install! Your first time installing one you can expect to spend around 2.5-3 hours. The 2nd is even easier and if you go step by step and follow there picture instructions

If you can change a tire you can install a power pole. Anyone who wants one or help installing one, we have them in stock and offer the lowest prices anywhere!

We also install them on site with same day appointments at our shop in California.
