 Depth finder location(s) Reply  Edit

I have a Lowrance X102C and a Ifinder H20, and Ram mounts for both.

How did you mount yours. I would like the H20 Ram mounted somewhere on the console, but with this boat (90 VS150) there isn't much room for a depthfinder. Especially after adding the H20

I'd like to hear any ideas or see any pictures of your sonar/gps installs

If you can snap a picture.
There isn't really any room on this boat to do an in-dash install. But that would be perfect. The depth finder in the dash, and the GPS on the Ram on the side of the console.

Thanks for the comments. Trust me I'm excited to have it done. Or at least close to it.

Why not put the Lowrance up on the front deck and the IFinder on the Ram mount on the console. That way with the IFinder you can get back to your location and fine tune your location with the Lowrance and trolling motor or did I miss something you already have something on the front deck?

I may do that. Put the 102 on the deck, but I still would like a depth finder on the console.
Once I get the boat closer to done I'll either get one from the classified section of this board, or see If I can get one through work for a good price.

That dash is pretty different than mine. I snap a picture of it tomorrow.

Someone mentioned a flasher....But I don't have space for it either. In the middle of the dash it looks like there is a place for one, but it has a water pressure gauge there.

My only choice might be a sonar/GPS combo on a ram, and put the 102 and the ifinder h20 up front......

well if you want a combo I would suggest a 520 and a 5300 or similar combo. the only down fall is that you will have to change transducer cables when you want bow or stern.. I have both network and Ethernet cables and what I have is 2 combo units as I can show my F/F on my GPS and have it split screen and alos my 5300 has a internal antenna and my 520 can use that threw the network

hope I never confused anyone LOL some told me I couldnt do this but I have LOL

I'll have to check with Lowrance to see what kind of price I can get. We buy them at work so maybe I can work out a deal to get one through work to save some bucks.

Can you relocate the pressure gauge next to the gauge on the right hand side of the steering wheel? That would give you a place to mount a flasher or f/f.

I'll have to look at it tomorrow. I might be able to relocate the gauge.
But that still leaves me with just enough room for a flasher.

I'd really prefer to have a graph at the console, not just a flasher.

The windshield is in the way also. I might remove it.

I think I'm going to have to try and get a sonar/gps combo and mount it on the right of the console on a ram mount. I can't fit anything under the windshield. I may take it off eventually. Depends on if it does anything to keep you dry or not.

I'm knee deep in a bunch of other work now though, so I'll have to re-visit this issue a bit later....

Thanks for the ideas. There just isn't much room for anything around the console on this boat.

I have a GPS unit right on top and then I have my depth finder located on the right side as well as my old school radio antena... haha... Really gets in the way but it was already installed and it makes for a better day on the lake when the fishing isnt the greatest...
