Not sure but you seat should flip forward or atleast mine does. And once you get the seat off those should be the screws to get to the gas tank. Kevin D Middletown, CT 1996 LS 185, Johnson 150

Ahh hell with it, go at it with a crow bar and rip it out. Ok, Im tired and punchy. I would say at the least undo the screws that are in your photo and u should be able to figure out where the screws are for it. Kevin D Middletown, CT 1996 LS 185, Johnson 150

Chain to seat, other end to the bumper and take off. Sounds like a good plan. Kevin D Middletown, CT 1996 LS 185, Johnson 150

Those screws that are in the pic. have to come out. There should be some in the floor and some on each side. Then you have to raise the rear storage and livewell lids and there will be some screws there, screwed in facing towards the front of the boat. Then there will be 3 or 4 screws in that same piece that face down, one on each end and 1 or 2 towords the center. After you get those out (they are hard to find because they are screwed into the carpet, but they are there!) that little piece will come off, and the rest of the screws and bolts will be in plain sight! Then you can pull the whole mount and both seats out, you might want to have someone help you since the seats will still be attached.

Another thing to think about...When I put new carpet in my boat I left the screws that go through the seat mount into the floor out. After I took the seat mount out (the thing that covers the gas tank), there was some water damage to the floor where some of the screws were. So I put down a couple strips of glass, then the carpet and the seat mount and I used all of the screws except the ones that went into the floor.
