How high can i set my motor and be safe. By this i mean what is the highest height I can go and then i will drop about 1/4" for saftey.
My boat has a 6" manual jack plate and currently the prop shaft is 2 1/2" below the pad.

I was thinking most of the 500 hull rangers were closer to 3.5" bp, but I'm not 100% sure.

anywhere from 2 3/4 to 3.5, youll just have to play with it and find the sweet spot

I'm taking a guess here but you are probaby at the max. My heighest is 2 3/4 and that's pushing it. Make sure you keep an eye on the pressure guage.
