My sins have been forgiven Reply  Edit

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away :
Well it was worse than I originally thought it was cracked on the top of the transom and the jackplate below was pressed into the boat huge cracks or gash whatever you want to say. The only bonus out of the whole two week ordeal was the seller is taking it back with a full refund. Hooray!!!!! now I am fishing out of the 18 ft crestliner don't get me wrong its a great boat, the crestliner but man I really wanted to start tournament fishing next year in a sweet bass boat. I guess I cant claim to be a member of Bass Boat Central. Ho hum Well it was awesome while it lasted Thanks guys who replied and look for me in the future! Ill have the 20# sack of bass at your next weigh in

Well I guess it was more than a Gel coat crack then...I am glad you got your money back...

Next time it wouldn't hurt to take a rig you are considering to any boat dealer and give them 100 bucks or so to spend an hour or two checking it out from bow to stern....

Don't be so quick to give up on a bass boat. There are lots of good ones that are for sale this time of the year. Keep looking you will find the one that's right for you.

Do some research on what you want and narrow it down to a couple in your price range and area. Take along an experienced bass fisherman/boat owner with you and go look at them. The second set of eyes can be a god send when it comes to spotting flaws. If everything appears to be good then arrange with the current owner a trip to the water for testing. Followed by a visit to a local shop you can trust to have them check the engine for compression etc. You will be expected to pay for the trip to the shop but a little spent here can save you thousands later on should there be an issue with the engine etc.Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply.
Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
