Set up for older Bumble Bee 2100 Pro Vee? Reply  Edit

Having trouble with getting the boat to lift and gain speed @ top end? This boat was bought my a friend of mine and it will not run any faster than mid 60'S. The boat has a 250XB Merc on the back, hanging on a 12" Jack Plate and a 25Pitch Trophy Prop. Does nay one have any suggestions on what he will need to do in order to get it to perform better?

I think they are running 8 to 10" plates on them now...12 might be over kill. If your runnign a 250XB I would guess a 27 or 27 Tempest? If you can find one of the larger Furys to try...maybe a 26 Fury?

Ask this on the Bee board or the Phoenix/Bee Line board. Since it's basicly the same hull as the 2100 Bee Line.

I had a terrible time getting mine to lift the bow. I tried moving the motor up and down and never really had any success. I have a 2000 model 200 pro sport with a 200 optimax on the back with a 12 inches of setback. I have a 25P trophy plus 4 blade on it right now.

I ended up getting Mark Croxton to work the prop and add cup to the tips to get it to lift the bow. The boat now drives like a totally different boat. It is amazing what that man can do with a prop. I gained almost 6 mph carrying a load from before I had it worked.

You can also look up Richard (I believe his screen name is kllr bee). He had a Bee with a 250XB on the back running mid 80s.

I am not sure if you have tried searching for any Bumble Bee topics in the Archives, but I believe I remember seeing a post about a 2100 in the archives.
