Right Prop for Merc 115 Reply  Edit

I have a 2009 Nitro X5 with a Merc 115 on the back. Am running a Lazer 20 Prop on the motor with a CMC 5 1/2 " setback manual jack plate. Doesn' t seem like I'm getting what I should out of this setup. Gps mph @ 52 mph. Is this about right for this setup.I know its just a mickey mouse 115 but this is what it is rated for.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry about that.My engine is a 2009 merc 115 opti. It turns about 5800 @wto and the hole shot just guessing takes about 5seconds till full plane. Does this help you out?

Best advice I can give, to find *maybe* a couple of mph is to have that lazer done by a real pro, they tend to leave a lot to be desired when under a full load, and a good prop guy can help that out a lot.

IMO you are "there" witha 3 cyl 115 on a 17ft boat. Leave it alone and go fishing.

According to the Nitro website, that boat should do 47-49 with a 115. You are already over that.
