I have made some spider rigs for crappie fishing but I dont want to mount anything to the actual floor of the boat. Does anyone have any ideas on my options???
Maybe put it in the hole for the front seat pedestal or find a way for it to fit around one of your compartment lids. If you had two compartment lids that where next to each other could you make a T shaped bracket that comes down from your round base so it will slide in the crack between the two lids. The round base would be on the top of the deck and the bracket would be under the lids. I don't know if it would work or not, it would depend on how your compartments are designed.
Justin I watched a crappie fishin show on the net just a few days ago with a nice set up that just layed on the sides of his front deck. He had what looked like a couple of 4x6 inch boards about 4 feet in lenght wrapped in boat carpet and his spider rigs were mounted on the boards in a line. the weight of the boards keep them from moving around. Of course I'm sure you have to secure them with straps for when you run from spot to spot. This will allow u to take them out when u aren't using them. He was in a nice RANGER bass boat.
