so how much did you have to put into your boat this past season? new boats don't count or does gas and oil.

so far i got three tires (one spare) $250
steering cables from bcb $425 + install $100
motor giude 71lb $500
winterize $100
trailer springs $125
total $1075

i knew i shouldn't have added this up, but noooooo.
last year i totaled $80 for winterizing.

the ol pII still rocks on

This year:
2 tires (one in the spring and one in the fall)........$170
New (used) Tach..........$60

Next year:
My trailer didn't come with brakes and I found out they are required for my GVW. Existing axle doesn't have brake flanges so I'll need:
New axle, brake actuator, calipers, rotors, plumbing............$550+ freight.

For 2009
New seats @ 500.00 bucks (recovered old ones)
2-new tires @ 300.00 buck (2-more next year) tandem trailer back ones wear first.
Water pump/tune up etc.. 325.00
skeg work and prop work. 250.00 +-

$1375.00 so far, it ain't over yet.. LOL.

Not a bad year, all things considered.

Been fairly lucky so far this year:

2 new trolling motor batteries - $160
1 new cranking battery (buying next week) - $80
new bracket for HB depth finder - $25
yearly motor service - $125
had some brake work done on my trailer and the servicing done - $220

I can live with that amount.

Let's see, I run two boats. This of course does not count tackle, rods, tournament fees, gas, oil, insurance, storage... Just repair costs.

trolling motor 1000

starter 200
anchor 23

Next Tuesday I am gonna have to put in 6 plugs on the optimax and I am going to add a Original Hamby for about 500 dollars.

I wish fishing did not cost my family so much, but I just cannot imagine life without fishing and my boats.

solenoid for backing up trailer $25.oo
new 5 pin harnes and 7 pin round to 5 pin flat adapter $36.oo
Spare wheel $35.oo

Total=$866.oo PLUS my trolling motor just crapped out so that needs to be repaired now!

now let's see divide my total cash spent this year buy the number of times i went fishing this year, carry the one, and it's still cheaper and more fun than golfing

WAAYY too much money. I don't have the figures right in front of me, but off the top of my head.

New motor $16,000
Prop $750
Prop $350
2 trolling batteries $300
New gauge $500
Misc items such as tie downs, wiring supplies, etc. About $300.

And I'm looking to get a new Stealth charger in a couple of weeks. There goes a few hundred more.

A slow boat is like taking a moped to work ....sure you gonna get there, but man does it suck!

I got a new boat.

On the old boat (294xl)
I added another cranking battery in parallel for night fishing on Dale Hollow.
$100 give or take 25. Cant remember exactly.

Blacklight (Punisher) ~$50.00

150.00 or so.

Not too bad, imo.

Hold on Im gonna vomit......
New front finder 300.00
Rework sand dredged prop and and tune spare prop 500.00
Lower unit seals, water pump, labor etc.... 200.00
VRO I think has gone bad, need to get it to my mechanic probably another 500 or so with labor.
New Batts. 3 at 350.00
New TM shaft and misc parts I think were about 150.00ish
New TM mount 75.00
I think there were a few smaller item I cat remember..... Good thing is its paid for now so hell with it.... bring on the broken parts.
