Do most people just go with one gear ratio and then just slow down their reeling speed or do you actually utilize different gear ratio reels to slow or speed up your line pickup?

i do both.

i have some fast reels and some slow reels and try to use them accordingly....... but if one lure/color is the only thing they will hit i will use whatever i need to be able to switch back and forth quickly.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.....teach him to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

I try to use 6:3.1 but now all the reels I brought are 7:1.1

I looked at the low gear ratio reels and decided to go with the high speed reels and just slow down the retrieve rate. It just feels like I will have more control.
