Is it best to leave the motor totter on the engine when parked or off with the engine all the way down? Been told that with it on it has less stress on the transom. Is this true. I don't see where this is true. The engine hangs the whole time you are out fishing.

I don't know if its right or not but I have always removed the motor totter and lowered the motor to the down position while the boat is on the trailer at home. It will allow any water in the lower unit to drain and takes up less room as well.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply.
Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

This has been argued both ways a few times. I don't think it really matters either way, but in the cold weather I do leave it trimmed down to let all the water run out of the lower unit.
