 set up tweaks-help Reply  Edit

OK, Im done fishing for a few months and want to mess with the new boat to get some more speed for next season

Stratos 285 Pro XL
Johnson 150
6" JP
Mich Wheel 23 prop
3.5" from pad

I get about 57 mph at 5200 RPMs
Pull about 24 PSI H2O

What can I mess with to get to 60?

My dad has pretty much the same setup and he gets around 60.5 (GPS) under a normal fishing load.

He's running a 24" Raker II and the motor height is 3" below pad. RPM's are in the 5200 range.

5200 rpm is low, either go up on the plate or find a different prop.

I have a 285 with a 150 HPDI, 6"JP, 23P Tempest at 6000rpm and it runs 59.3 GPS tourney weight. Hope this helps out

Thanks guys. I got what I hoped for
I'll move the JP BEFORE I sink money into a new prop
