You need to also check the gasket around the storage lockers they will leak also.

Drain holes, we don't need no stinkin drain holes...... Actually there are none. This is something I brought up to Xpress personally and gave them a work-around. For those of us who have found the hard way that the boat WILL hold its own (water) I can only make a few suggestions. First if you are not afraid of drill a few holes, you can drill a few holes straight down just inside the forward compartments near the aft end of the compartments. including the center one. Now, this will only provide good drainage if there is no filler foam between the deck and the hull. Otherwise the drainage will be very slow and will add water weight till it all ends up in the bilge for pump out. The other things you can do are RTV seal all of the gaskets at the openings and route you drain tube for the trolling motor tray so that it goes completely through your forward storage compartments and drains out onto the central compartment where you sit. Not the best options but better than moldy baits and carpet. I only work to support my fishing habit......

Thanks everyone, that's what I was afraid of. I might just leave the drain pluged and let the passenger deal with the water that splashes out. I mean, they are going to get wet anyway right?

I bought an X19 in 2008. I love this boat but their design to keep the dry storage dry is absolutely absurd. After a rain, my center dry storage looked like a live well. I have since added silicone along the foam gasket which helped tremendously. However, it still gets slightly wet after a lot of rain. What's more frustrating is the two storage boxes on the back deck. I normally use these as an ice chest. The black boxes have drain holes and the water will drain out of the box, but some residual water will remain in the pocket of foam underneath and become stagnant real quick.

Do you have any pics of the silicone? I think the livewell is the only compartment in my boat that doesn't hold water well. Allen 2006 X-18 150 Optimax

So are we saying that there is no space for drainage under our floors? If we install a recessed foot controller bay that there is no way to drain it? I spoke with Joe Jones this week (BBC Sponser and seller of kits to recess foot pedals) and he said there is a center channel drain in Xpress boats and the hose is placed into the drain from the very front center of the boat. Is this not correct? Jim 2005 Xpress X17 90hp Evinrude Etec

I was told the same thing by someone at Xpress but I can't find the center channel or a drain anywhere in the boat.

My 09 H18 has a drain hole in the center of the front lockers at the lowest point inside. It is a black hole that is plastic and runs into the center channel of the boat under the floor. You can see where it comes out under the tank in the rear and runs directly into the drain well where the bilge pump is. Never looked for it in the back, but my X-60 has the drain in the front compartment.
