Let me clarify something first, I didn't really fall overboard, but I will count it as such. I was on the front of my buddies boat as he was pullin up to the dock to catch the boat. He was pullin into a slip with docks on both sides, he was heading to the left side, as I started to step off the boat to catch it, he turned to the right side. He says he didn't see me stepping off, yeah right!! He said I looked like one of the lizards that walk on water!! , did manage to only get wet from the waist down though, still was in February!

Mine was pretty embarrassing. First club tournament, first time in my new boat (well new to me) I draw the starter boat duties, I am sitting at the dock with everybody waiting on me and my boat won't start, so I jump up front to put the trolling motor in. My right foot slips on the fiberglass and I did the splits didn't hurt the jewels, but it hurt enough that I rolled into the water instead of staying in the boat. It was only waist deep, but it was still cold. The club president motors over (with a straight face) and asks me for $5 for the launch fee. Needless to say the starting list was wet along with my wallet, cell phone, and my car alarm key chain I ended up having a loose wire on the ignition.

Been overboard twice. Once on Lake Fork and once on Grand Lake (OK). The Fork thing wasn't my fault. The Old Lady got hung up and I trolled back to get it loose. Saw two stumps and went between them. Didn't see the third. Just tall enough to catch the trolling motor. Boat stopped, I didn't. Of course, it had to be March and cold. Froze my butt off on the ride back to the ramp. The Grand Lake thing I guess I'll take the blame. Fishing the Grand Challenge, and it was windy and cold (50 deg). Got bit, set the hook, rod pops out. Bounced once on the deck and into the drink. Now, this is my brand new Falcon Cara with a Shimano Curado. So I go after it. So, technically, I didn't fall in. Grab the rod, hand it to my partner, who lands the fish. The only bite I had all day, and its a DRUM .

I'm assuming being pushed overboard by your wife while an 8 foot gator is swimming by doesn't count!

While fishing a tournament, my partner hit the troller and I wasn't paying attention. I lost balance and fell off the front deck into a muddy hydrilla mat. Very embarassing and my partner never let me live it down

If you haven't ever fell out of your boat, your lake must have a lack of trees to snag lures. Or you never cast close to trees, anyway. Or you cast better than me.

Did the same thing you did, adchunts. Hands were wet, got a bite, set the hook, fish pulled back, rod popped right out of my hands and into the drink. Saw it sinking and thought I could reach it......reached too far........went in and no rod. Ron Hogrebe-Fenton,MO

Been in twice. Both within a half hour. Fishing in April on Truamn in a buddies fish and ski both of us filpping on the front deck. He bumped a tree and over I went. Went and changed clothes since it was COLD and then not fifty from the first spot he bumped a tree again and over I went. I found I can't swim a lick when I have heavy clothes on so I latched onto the tree in a bear hug. He just looked at me and kept casting. For years I accused him of pushing me. Bet I can figure out is for years and years when bumping a tree in timber I just brought my foot up and caught my balqance on the side of the boat. That fish and ski has sides that are about 4 inches higher than any of the other boars either of us had owned it had cushions built in. So when we bumped a tree I buried my toes into the cushion and launched myself overboard. Both times it looked like I just jumped overboard.Since then I stand farther from the edge so I can get my foot back onto the deck.

My dad went over in a tournament in Ohio in April. Was a rainy, drizzly day and I was in a different boat. He went to get his bait which was stuck and slipped right off the waxed deck. Happened about 45 minutes into the tournament and he fished the rest of the day. I didn't find out about it until the end of the day. Didn't catch a fish that day either. He never let me forget about my need to wax the whole boat as being a bad thing, in his estimation."Old fisherman never die, they just smell that way"

Well, I have come close a bunch, but never quite gone for the swim. I fish with Rangerman often, especially in the winger, and I am glad he has been ejected, because now he slows down if it gets to choppy.
