Water Separating Fuel Filter System Reply  Edit

I have been reading information posted on the forum about the ethanol affects in outboard motors.

My question: Has anyone add a “10 Micron, In-Line Fuel Filter,” to their Astro boat?

I just replaced my fuel line hose. I am considering the 10 Micron, In-Line Fuel Filter as added protection. Moeller sells one at Academy.

Where is the ideal location on an Astro Quickfire 18fs? I was thinking about the starboard side wall, level with the fuel hose as it exits the fuel tank. Has anyone installed one? How did you go about it? Thanks

If your powerhead has a spin on fuel filter and it is a Mercury then it is advised not to add an extra filter in the fuel system.

Check out this link:

If your outboard does not have a spin on fine Micron fuel filter then by all means install one in the boat.
