i want to put a 6" jackplate on a 1990 stalker 180 with 150 hp efi mercury. will my
transom hold up being that old of a boat?

I've got one on my 89 with a 200HP GT.

Any reinforcement or bolted straight to the transom?

I've got a piece of diamond plate on the inside of the transom.

I just put one on my procraft, you are the first person on this site I have heard of that had a 1990 180 stalker. I just rebuilt the transom on mine and put a 6" plate on mine, I have not ran it yet but will let you know as soon as I do. I have an 150 XR4 with a 21p merc High 5, which I am sure is to small for this now but I got the prop for $80 I guess I will need a 23p to make it run.
