hey all you astro owners. I'm new to the forum but not new to fishing. I'm looking at buying my first bass boat and am really excited about it. I found a 99 astro close to home here in NY. its a beautiful boat with 125 merc, 71lb motorguide, lowrance 520 gps at console. Has and eagle at the bow. Has 2 pedestal bike seats, I guess thats what you call them. Also has two brand new in packaging regular pedestal seats. Comes with spare 51lb motorguide trolling motor. The boat is 17'9". Rod locker fits 8' rods. Boat has always been garage kept. The only thing that i think it will need is a good cleaning. Oh yeah it also has a keel guard, dont really know how much that would be worth. I like the concept of the keel guard. The only issue i have with the boat is that it seems to weigh a little more than other boats in its category. That might not be the case considering that I'm new to bass boats. The owner wants 6k for it but I know that I can get it for 5500. He also mentioned that he would put 2 new optimax batteries in it if I offer a good price. I really want the boat. Just wanted to get anybodies opinion on the boat. Any opinions please.
I have a 99 Astro X1850 but mine has a Merc 175 EFI on it. Good solid boat that hasn't given me any problems. $5500 sounds like a pretty good deal if it is in decent shape.
