 X-270 question Reply  Edit

I have an 89 X-270 with a 100hp johnson and am running 38mph (GPS)consistantly... does that sound about right?

second im thinking about upgrading to a 150hp black max so that im not always getting beat to my spots during tournaments... how would this boat handle the extra weight and hp and also what kind of speed would I get?

That boat's rated for a 150. As long as it isn't waterlogged and you prop it right, aty the right engine height, you'll be pleased with the speed. Depending on the engine and the other factors, you'll probably be hitting 60-ish.

38mph with a 100 sounds slow. I don't know anyone that's had a 270 with a 100, but it all depends on your prop, engine height, and how much weight you're carrying.
