Well I have to say that I have the same problem. I get the white fog on my front unit when I hit the juice on the TM. Not sure why cause my LSS ducer is located on the transom. The only thing I can think of is the wires I have tucked under the bow are to close to the TM wires/plug.

I really can't help. All I can say is that if you have a problem with the Lowrance I can't imagine what you would have had with a HB. My 997SI was not even usable with my trolling motor and I put my LSS on my trolling motor. I can't tell any difference between in running or not except the boat has to be moving for the side scan to work but I don't see any interference on the screen.

I also have the same problem. i have noticed that when my TM speed is set low it doesnt happen and when its turned in certain directions it doesnt happen. I was wondering if its coming from vibrations and not TM electical interference.Just a thought but Im new to boats and graphs.

you can run a wire from the transducer to the negative power on the unit. That should clear up a lot of it. That was the fix Humminbird told me way back when.

Well, let me chime in here. Maybe 10 years ago I had a fit with TM interference (a MG and a Lowrance) and finally got rid of it doing the steps below. I recently got interference, this time a MK and HB, and did all the steps again. I don't know which thing fixed it, but in combination they did the trick.- put RF filters on the TM power cable and on the sonar power line - ran a shielded power line (old transducer cable) directly from the starter battery to the sonar unit. - put a fused line between the negative terminals of the starter battery and a TM battery - put a ground line between the TM skeg and the neg side of the TM four prong plug. - put thick flexible under the metal clamp holding the transducer on the TM, to isolate it from the TM Frank

My 2 d sonar is clear it is only the side scan that gets the noise. I think i am going to hard wire the troller without the plug to eliminate any plugs on all devices. I even soldered all my power cables with heat shrink. I might try the ground wire to the skeg if all else fails. if i get mine to go away i will post up the results on the fix.

The LSS-1 transudcer is SUPER sensitive and yes it will pick up the slightest vibrations from your trolling motor all the way on the front of your boat.

How bad are your props? Maybe try a new one to see if the smoother running prop makes any difference

prop is like new. the troller is a 4 month old 82lb tour motorguide it is smooth while running. i might do some testing if fishing is slow and see if it does it without the prop. it does not do it when the motor is up out of the water.

mmm, , ,I don't know how to ground directly to the transducer or the transducer cable. Just to the TM. I drilled a small hole in the skeg the right size for a small machine screw & put a ring connector on the wire. Sooo many honey-do's . . . Sooo little motivation

For TM i grounded to the clamp. For the transom/jp I put the wire on the screw. You just wrap the wire around the screw and tighten.

Breck, guess it's my day to be a little dense. Sorry. I don't picture what you mean when you say "transom/jp".My MK lower unit frame has three alum components, the part with the skeg, the nose piece (the multi-meter shows connectivity between them), and a center portion where the clamp goes. The multi-meter shows no connectivity between the center piece and the front or back. Just for grins, I think I'll extend the skeg ground line to the clamp. Cover all the bases. LOL. I believe he is talking about a ground to the transducer bracket. i dont think you can ground to the ducer itself it is all plastic and non conductive. i am going to do some testing this weekend and post the results.

Yup The LSS-1 bracket is metal, the jackplate is metal. so you are grounding it from the negative to the unit which fixed most of the HB interference I had.

Just to update to all that had the same issues. I have the problem almost gone. I grounded the troller shaft to the battery and i only get interference with one small section of the speed control. It is about 95% gone. if i get the fog i just roll the speed up or down a hair and its gone. I am a happy camper i will test some more to rid the problem all together.

i have interference with the 2d sonar, im using MK Universal Sonar, and when you step on the go button there is a 1/8" wide line in the screen. Its not so bad in shallow water but its real bad 15+
