With the new softwar upgrade that was available late last week, you will be able to use the Navionics Platinum card in your unit. Just make sure you download the most recent software upgrade and ou should be fine. JUSTIN

Yes, only one actually proved it didnt work prior. There was a LOT of hearsay from a BPS employee which in most cases are not able to known and test the units enough to be experts on the systems. Seems a lot of "Lowrance doesnt" posts that have a nice icon on them but in reality are not true. But hey it plants the seed of doubt and may help you hop off the fence.

I personally downloaded the new software (released Feb 1 for the Micro SD card) for my HDS 10 and my 2010 South region chip still does not work!!!

I downloaded the latest update from Lowrance (02/01/10) and installed on my HDS-10 yesterday. I have the 2010 Platinum card. It works.Make sure you have the Platform 56.13-3 from the update.

I also bought the 2010 Platinum South card. Downloaded the new update into my HDS 8 and HDS 10. Both work flawlessly....

Updated mine the other night and everything works fine, just do not have the 2010 card and will have to be some big improvements for me to upgrade.  .

My only rationale for purchasing 2010 Platinum was that my home lake was now in HD. It is not in great detail with Insight, so I decided to buy the Nav...
