Has anyone played with the setup of a 285xl with a 175 opti. It is still set at the factory settings with the exception I have changed to a 27 pitch prop versus a 25. Current top end is 67.0 gps WOT at 5400 RPM . That is in perfect conditions with cold air ( how often is that found). Water pressure is very strong. I have not measured the motor height. Just looking to cut down on trial and error time if possible. Thanks for the help.Hardy O
The engine should be set at 3 and 3/8th's pad to shaft. Add trim extenders. The 175 Opti is a 5750 engine...but makes power at 5400. You can leave it there but you may find the summer weather will cut you back and you'll need to go 26.
