Lcx & HDS wiring Reply  Edit

Need Help. I have 2 lcx-s hooked up now by nmea 2k network. Only one powers the network. I want to put a HDS on the console with SS-1 and Lcx on the bow, Do I power both units or one up from the nmea-2k. If one does it have to be the console to turn on the SS-1 A quick instruction would be a great help.

The network has to be powered only once. No matter how many displays you have networked. If you have your network powered by the console unit now and replace it with an HDS you will need to find another source of power for the network. The HDS units can not power it through the cable as the previous units did. Either buy a power node and hook it in the network bus or power your network from the bow graph. I would go with the node.
See my diagrams in the Lowrance contact info and networking tips thread pinned near top. Last diagram shows a power node.
The LSS-1 is a whole other topic as far as wiring. There is a few choices you can make on where to connect the yellow accy wake up wire. I would wire it to an accy switch so I have more control over what is turned on or off.
